Program Introduction

Computer Science as a discipline has huge scope in almost every industry in the world. The BS in Computer Sciences program essentially focuses on the procedures and concepts used in the development of advanced software systems. This BS Computer Science program helps students with the exploration of the conceptual foundation of Computer Sciences such as its fundamental algorithms, programming language and more. The curriculum provides students with deep knowledge and broad skills regarding modern software and hardware concepts, and introduces students to numerous programming paradigms. In addition, students have the opportunity to choose from a rich set of electives.

SST encourages faculty members and students to undertake research and development and engage in collaborative work with industry. This provides them insight into the real world problems. SST graduates may work in an international environment. Therefore, class instruction and interaction between students and faculty members is conducted in English to ensure that graduate possess written and spoken fluency in English. This is accomplished foremost in the required laboratories, term reports, senior design projects, and internships.

The programs is designed to satisfy general requirements and meet the criteria adopted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. A departmental curriculum committee periodically reviews and proposes updates in order to keep them in line with the best international universities for BS Computer Science (BSCS).

There are vast employment opportunities for BS Computer Science graduates in a variety of industries ranging from software development sectors to education, communication, commerce, government, etc.  They may also pursue entrepreneurial or research oriented careers. Program Details

4 years

a)      FSc Pre-Engineering, ICS and FSc Pre-Medical (Deficiency Courses) with minimum 50% marks and no 3rd division in matriculation.

b)      In case of A Level, American High School Diploma or any other equivalent foreign qualification, an equivalence certificate FSc Pre-Engineering, ICS and FSc Pre-Medical (Deficiency Courses) from IBCC is mandatory.

c)  50% passing marks in NAT/Admission Test are required for admission.
