BS Human Nutrition and Dietetics

Program Introduction

BS Human Nutrition and Dietetics (HND) program aims to impart knowledge and skills fundamental to progression towards goals foundational to students in terms of supervised practice leading to producing high-quality consummate professionals who can deliver excellence in service to society through careers in the domains of food, nutrition, dietetics, academia, and research. The program is designed to provide fundamental knowledge in terms of how different nutrients and other food components function at various levels (cellular, systematic, and whole body), as well as their impact on human health and disease patterns. The program will contribute effectively to the knowledge base of undergraduate students of the human nutrition and dietetics program by way of high impact and quality teaching, training, and research mentorship. The graduates will be able to deliver high-quality research-oriented, and innovative interventions for bringing about modifications in meal patterns and food choices, with the ultimate goal of improving the health of individuals, families, and communities. The graduates will also provide services to various community, professional, and governmental organizations in terms of academic support, professional assistance, and volunteer aid. Through the BS HND program, we are offering specialization of our graduates in the following three major streams of nutrition:

  • Food Functionality
  • Sports and Exercise Nutrition
  • Global Nutrition

Program Details

The minimum requirements for admission in a bachelor degree program is as following:

 

a) At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Pre-Medical or equivalent qualification, certified by IBCC.
