Program Introduction

The PhD Artificial Intelligence program develops independent researchers capable of making substantive contributions to the evolving field of AI. It offers advanced research opportunities across areas including machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, large language models, computer vision, autonomous systems, and intelligent decision-making.

Scholars engage in formulating significant research questions, developing novel AI methodologies, and rigorously validating their contributions. The program emphasizes trustworthy, scalable, explainable, and responsible AI for complex real-world applications.

Program Details

3 Years
  • Minimum 60% score (annual system) or a 3.0/4.0 CGPA (semester system) in the MS/MPhil/equivalent degree being considered for admission, is required, whether the degree was obtained from a Pakistani or foreign university.
  • Equivalent degree in Science and Technology is also acceptable; however, such candidates may be required to complete deficiency courses from the MSAI program.
  • Candidates must qualify either the GAT Subject (NTS) with a minimum score of 60% or the UMT Admission Test with a minimum score of 70%, as applicable.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be required to appear in an admission interview conducted by the Departmental Graduate Committee.
