Program Introduction

The Commercial Law (LLM) Program 2021 at UMT offers you an opportunity to explore a wide range of subjects at an advanced level and study the law in the fast-paced and diverse context of the commercial world. Students engage in intensive study experience related to specialist commercial and industrial topics.

The aim of the LLM Commercial Law Program is to equip law graduates with knowledge and skills necessary for commercial practice. It is focused to produce academics and practitioners who are able to enhance the existing legal framework for business in Pakistan. Under the supervision of legal experts, law graduates are taught about European commercial issues, international trade or aspects of domestic commerce. Through this course, you will explore the differences in laws and governance in countries across the globe, and how they respond to economic and social pressures, economic stability and crisis.

The program is structured in accordance with the precedents set by top European and American law schools while adhering to the curriculum prescribed by Higher Education Commission. The courses are taught using the Socratic Method, which has been used at top American law schools for over a century. At University you will gain an unparalleled understanding of the areas of law governing the highly complex, sophisticated and dynamic corporate and commercial worlds that are progressively global in character.

The Commercial Law (LLM) program at UMT is beneficial for students who aspire to work in the corporate and commercial sectors, but not necessarily within a legal career. The degree provides outstanding foundation for students who are considering pursuing legal research.

Program Details

An applicant must have a first law degree (J.D., LL.B., LL.B. (Hons.), BA/LL.B., or equivalent) from a Pakistani or foreign university in order to be considered for admission.
45% marks in annual system or 2.5 out of 4 CGPA
GAT 50%
