Bachelor of Commerce is a unique, professionally-oriented course that has been designed to provide strong foundation to participants in finance, accounting, and taxation. The Bachelor of Commerce offered by the School of Commerce and Accountancy at UMT comprises of a four- year degree program of intensive studies and practical work.
The program aims to equip participants with the knowledge and competence in the field of both business and commerce so as to pursue a professional career and to provide an environment that challenges the participants’ mind through competitive education which emphasizes on inculcating values, and then transforming them into socially responsible managers and business leaders. Moreover, the qualification further emphasizes the participants to meet the needs of entering into middle level management for being placed as executives in various departments of the company such as finance, auditing, accounting, and taxation.
The graduates of Bachelor of Commerce have profound knowledge and understanding of current theoretical concepts, can think critically and analytically, are able to effectively communicate research in both written and oral forms, and are able to plan and carry out supervised programs.
The main focus of the degree is on accounting and finance. Other relevant subjects such as management, law, mathematics, statistics and economics are also covered. The graduates receive a strong theoretical and practical grounding in the principles of accounting and acquire appropriate transferable skills. The program provides the graduate a fast track to an accountancy qualification. The skilled and expert knowledge gained during the degree are sought out by employers not only in Pakistan but aboard as well and set its graduates on an upward trajectory.
