BS Mechanical Engineering

Program Introduction

Not Offered in Spring 2024

Mechanical engineering is a study of engineering that applies the principles of physics and material sciences for design, manufacturing, operations, analysis and maintenance of mechanical systems and machines. Their designed tools serve the medical, energy, automated and manufacturing industry. They work in general-purpose and automotive companies and in research and development testing laboratories and sometimes visit work sites to solve problems with existing equipment.

Keeping in the view the importance of mechanical engineering, the UMT School of Engineering (SEN) offers BS degree in Mechanical Engineering which enhances your ability to design, manage and maintain a diverse range of mechanical applications. The undergraduate curriculum includes foundation courses in mathematics, physics and chemistry.

Through practical learning and industry experience, you embark on a journey of creativity and innovation. Under the guidance of leading experts you learn to analyze mechanical design, using the principles of motion, energy and force to ensure the safety and reliability of products. You develop an understanding of how efficient systems and processes support the manufacture of products at a competitive cost. The degree focuses on various aspects of mechanical engineering including production and usage of heat and mechanical power; design and analysis of production machinery, industrial equipment, heating and cooling systems, aircrafts, watercrafts; industrial automation, design and production of medical devices, etc.

Through this degree you are given comprehensive guideline on how to design a mechanical component, a whole machine, a mechanical system and a mechanical process. You gain an invaluable industry
experience which can help you develop professional networks.

The scope, the vision UMT provides can enhance your abilities as mechanical engineers and you will be able to join leading institutions of Pakistan and work across the aerospace, automotive, chemical,
communication, computer and power generation industries.
