MA Special Education

Program Introduction

MA Special Education offers participants an inclusive learning and opportunity to understand the developments in education of young people who have need special education due to disabilities.

The School of Social Sciences and Humanities at UMT, has launched a new degree program MA Special Education which promotes the equal opportunities for all. It is a two-year the degree program that prepares teachers to instruct children with special needs. The curriculum and instructional methodology meet the international standards. Participants can pursue for higher studies anywhere in the world after completing this program.

MA Special Education is prepared in line with the international movement for inclusive education. It enables students to understand general principles and practices in the education of students with special needs, and acquires specialist knowledge and skills in any one area of specialization. The offered areas of specialization are hearing impairment, intellectual impairment and visual impairment. The program is a blend of theory and practice.

This degree program equips participants to contribute to the educational and emotional need of special students, and to use modern instructional methods and approaches in special education. The option of internship is available for those who intend to join teaching as profession. By earning the MA Special Education degree, the graduates can work in educational support services, government state departments, special schools, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, etc.

BA / BSc / BCom with 45% marks in case of annual system and 2.0 CGPA in case of semester system.

No 3rd Division in entire academic career
