BS Informatics

Program Introduction

The BS informatics is designed around set of core courses that introduce the fundamentals of informatics, software and social analysis of computerization. Diverse specializations such as health care, transportation, governance, social media and security etc are offered. The major is inherently interdisciplinary, with courses ranging from sociology and psychology to management and public health, depending on the specialization chosen. The informatics major combines fundamental and practical computing knowledge with a choice of cognate areas like creative design practices, app development, ethnography, information management, business IT and other topics, providing students with the necessary background and specialized skills to work at the interface of computing and another discipline. To fulfill requirements for the informatics major, students combine informatics coursework that provides a strong foundation in computing with coursework in one of several cognate disciplines. This approach yields a wide variety of multidimensional programs well suited to the educational and economic needs of the 21st century. This program is a unique undergraduate degree program designed to prepare students to be agents of change in the undergoing transition to a completely new networking paradigm that is emerging from competing technologies, standards and business models.

Program Details

4 Years

a)      Intermediate with mathematics securing minimum 50% marks and no 3rd division in matriculation.

b)      In case of A Level, American High School Diploma or any other equivalent foreign qualification, an equivalence certificate from IBCC is mandatory.

c)  50% passing marks in NAT/Admission Test are required for admission.
